Kids Martial Arts - October Life Skill: COURAGE

Kids Martial Arts - October Life Skill:

COURAGE

“Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.”
Winston S. Churchill

At Lucky Jiu Jitsu & Fitness Club we build our kids up to be champions in life! One of the ways we do this, is through our life skills program. Each month we go over the Life Skill: defining the skill, giving them examples, asking them to give their coaches examples, working on each Life Skill at home and school, and we also incorporate the Life Skill into our kids martial arts classes.

kids martial arts Southlake Texas

This month we are learning along with Harry how important it is to have courage. We will learn that it's okay to walk away from someone who is picking on us. We will also learn to be brave and volunteer to go first and to speak up if we know someone could get hurt. We will also learn that we should show courage, and try a new activity that might challenge us.

Kids Martial Arts Grapevine Texas

Parent Tip of the Month: This month show your children you have courage.

Remember, you are your child's FIRST role model. They want to be just like YOU! In today's world so many children are really afraid of making mistakes. So afraid that when they won't even try something new! Let's make sure we let them know that it's OK to fail as long as you learn from your mistakes!

What Benefits Do Martial Arts Offer That Team Sports Don't?

Self Defense

By teaching your child how to defend themselves, ether standing up and/or on the ground, we are teaching them the best forms of self defense. Without a doubt Muay Thai Kickboxing is the best form of stand up martial arts and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is the best form of ground martial arts.
Most martial arts schools only focus on the stand up self defense or the ground self defense. At Lucky Mixed Martial Arts we specialize in both! We are always working to improve our curriculum to make sure your child is learning the best skills.

Self Confidence

At Lucky Jiu Jitsu & Fitness Club we believe in not only making champions in martial arts, we believe in making champions in life! Our programs are designed to increase your child's confidence, self esteem, and help to make them a better person!

Discipline

Having your child involved in mixed martial arts will teach them discipline, respect, and self control. These necessary tools will help them throughout life, as well as avoid fights, and defend themselves when conflict in unavoidable.

Individual Achievement

Instead of trying to "make the team" or sitting on the bench, everyone is able to participate. They are able to rank up (belt/strips), compete, and progress as an individual.

Gender Equality

Kids Martial Arts is one of the few sports where boys and girls can play/train together.

Weight Control

Kids Martial Arts classes are one of the best ways for your child to get in shape and lead a healthy life. Unlike team sports, where a lot of kids sit on the bench, in martial arts training every child is pushed to make themselves better. This is very important in this day and age where kids just want to play video games. The workouts are fun and a lot of the time the kids don't even realize they are exercising while they are learning self defense.

Never Ending Season

Unlike team sports, which have seasons, they are able to train all year round!

If you're like the many parents whose kids take our martial arts classes... you don't just want your child to learn self-defense. You want them to also learn respect, focus and discipline for a successful future. And you want them to get great exercise for health and wellness.

Your child will get all of these and more in every one of our Southlake, Grapevine, Colleyville, Keller, Trophy Club, Roanoke kids martial arts classes. And our fun, expert instructors will be there to guide them every step of the way. Click here to learn more and enroll your child today.

If you live in the following towns of Fort Worth, Southlake, Grapevine, Colleyville, Trophy Club, Roanoke, Lewisville, Coppell, Euless, Bedford, North Richland Hills, and Keller then you and children are close enough to come train with us!

Kids Martial Arts - July Life Skill: Patience

Kids Martial Arts - July Life Skill:

Parent Tip of the Month: This month show your children you have patience by remembering that every delay or interruption is a teachable moment for the family members with us.

Practice taking a deep breath and handling obstacles in our way cheerfully!

Through Harry's adventures we will be learning why it's important to find ways to complete the goals we set for ourselves, regardless of the setbacks we encounter. Staying positive when facing difficulty is a skill that must be practiced.

Parent Tip of the Month: This month show your children you have kindness by going out of your way to treat others with respect and empathy while in the presence of your child.

We all experience moments of frustration in our lives where our patience may have worn thin. Do your best to demonstrate kindness in those difficult situations. Whenever your child is with you they are paying attention to how you treat other people. You are always teaching whether you realize it or not.

Remember, you are your child's FIRST role model. They want to be just like YOU!

Kids Martial Arts - January Life Skill: Initiative

Kids Martial Arts - January Life Skill:

INITIATIVE

"Success comes from taking the initiative and following up or persisting."

~ Tony Robbins

At Lucky Jiu Jitsu & Fitness Club we build our kids up to be champions in life! One of the ways we do this, is through our life skills program. Each month we go over the Life Skill: defining the skill, giving them examples, asking them to give their coaches examples, working on each Life Skill at home and school, and we also incorporate the Life Skill into our kids martial arts classes.

This months Life Skill is Initiative. This month we are learning how to show initiative and through Harry's adventures, we will learn that we are old enough to remember we should brush our teeth before going to bed, and if we see that our room is messy, we should clean it up without being asked. We will also learn the importance of practicing and doing our homework without being told by our parents.

martial_arts_school_lucky_mma

Parent Tip of the Month: This month show your children you have initiative by choosing to eat healthy and exercise; instead of drive through dinner, make a healthy dinner at least three times a week for family time and get the kids involved.

Get the whole family involved in a weekly exercise that can also help them in the their martial arts training like taking a walk, a run, or even working out on a bag at home. (It's a great stress reliever, and your kids will love the new quality time they have with you!)

Remember, you are your child's FIRST role model. They want to be just like YOU!

Kids Martial Arts - December Life Skill: APPRECIATION

Kids Martial Arts - December Life Skill:

APPRECIATION

"As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them."  ~  John Fitzgerald Kennedy

This months Life Skill is Appreciation. This month we are learning about appreciation. Through Harry's adventures, we will learn to be grateful for the gifts we receive during the holidays, and we will learn to appreciate our parents and teachers for the everyday things that they do for us. We'll also learn to appreciate our toys and take care of them.

Parent Tip of the Month: This month show your children you appreciate them by simply hanging a picture that they drew for you on the refrigerator for everyone to see. Show your appreciation to your child's school teacher and instructor's, and let them see you complementing them, so your child will feel proud of their teachers and themselves.

By demonstrating appreciation in your own life, your child will grow up understanding that family and friends is what really matters in life and the fun memories that they will take with them.

Remember, you are your child's FIRST role model. They want to be just like YOU!

Kids Martial Arts - November Life Skill: POLITENESS

Kids Martial Arts - November Life Skill:

POLITENESS

"Do unto others as you would have them do unto you."

This months Life Skill is Politeness. This month we are learning about the importance of being polite to others. Through Harry's adventures, we will learn that being kind to new kids can create lasting friendships. Helping with simple tasks around the house can really make a new difference and show you care and respect your parents. We will also learn that having good table side manners shows a lot about who we are as a person.

Parent Tip of the Month: This month be aware of how you speak and your actions toward your loved ones, friends and others you may not even know. You might not know it, but your little ones are watching you like a hawk, and if you want your children to be polite and respectful toward others, then so should you. (This means if you like to joke around, be sarcastic or talk about a friend or co-worker behind their back, so will your children.)

This month go out of your way, especially in front of your children, to show a little more politeness to others, and you will find them imitating you.

Remember, you are your child's FIRST role model. They want to be just like YOU!

Kids Martial Arts - October Life Skill: BRAVERY

Kids Martial Arts - October Life Skill:

BRAVERY

“He who is not courageous enough to take risks will accomplish nothing in life.” – Muhammad Ali

This months Life Skill is Bravery. Through Harry's adventures this month, we are going to learn about why it's important to have bravery and that FEAR is only, false expectations appearing real. We will learn that sometimes our imaginations can get the best of us, especially when it's dark outside. We will also learn it's okay to stand up to someone who is picking on us, and speak up and tell an adult we need help.

Parent Tip of the Month: This month show your child your have bravery by trying something new like participating in a Fitness Kickboxing class or trying Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Just get out of your normal routine and shake things up. This way your child sees you being brave and they will too.

Kids Martial Arts - September Life Skill: Enthusiasm

Kids Martial Arts - September Life Skill:

ENTHUSIASM

“Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson

At Lucky Jiu Jitsu & Fitness Club we build our kids up to be champions in life! One of the ways we do this, is through our life skills program. Each month we go over the Life Skill: defining the skill, giving them examples, asking them to give their coaches examples, working on each Life Skill at home and school, and we also incorporate the Life Skill into our kids martial arts classes.

This months Life Skill is Enthusiasm. Through Harry's adventures this month, we are going to learn about why it's important to have enthusiasm for school and finding new subjects to become excited about. Enthusiasm for learning cool new martial arts moves and enthusiasm for the simple things in life, like seeing a rainbow after it rains.

Parent tip of the month: This month show your child your have enthusiasm! Be excited when they show you they did well in school, or in any subject or activities they excel at. Every child is different so find the activity or subject they excel in and help them thrive by being encouraging.

Remember, you are your child's FIRST role model. They want to be just like YOU!

Each month we go over the Life Skill: defining the skill, giving them examples, asking them to give their coaches examples, working on each Life Skill at home and school, and we also incorporate the Life Skill into our classes.

This months Life Skill is Focus. By the end of the month, each child will understand why it's important to pay attention to our teachers, instructors and our parents, when they are talking to us. We'll also learn why it's important to pay attention to were our path is taking us so we don't fall. Harry will also learn to make big goals, like earning his black belt, than making small goals to achieve it. Then we will learn to focus on our school work so we grow up to be smart.

February Life Skill:

Kindness

"Kindness is the language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see." ~ Mark Twain

Parent Tip of the Month: This month show your children you have kindness by going out of your way to treat others with respect and empathy while in the presence of your child.

We all experience moments of frustration in our lives where our patience have worn thin. Do your best to demonstrate kindness in those difficult situations. Whenever your child is with you they are paying attention to how you treat other people. You are always teaching whether you realize it or not.

Remember, you are your child's BIGGEST role model. They want to be just like YOU!

December Life Skill: Appreciation

December Life Skill:

Appreciation

“Appreciation can make a day - even change a life. Your willingness to put it into words is all that is necessary." ~ Margaret Cousins

At Peak Performance we build our kids up to be champions in life! One of the ways we do this, is through our life skills program. Each month we go over the Life Skill: defining the skill, giving them examples, asking them to give their coaches examples, working on each Life Skill at home and school, and we also incorporate the Life Skill into our classes.

This months Life Skill is Appreciation. We will learn to be grateful for the gifts we receive during the holidays, and we will learn to appreciate our parents and teachers for the everyday things that they do for us. We'll also learn to appreciate our toys and take care of them.

Parent Tip of the Month: Show your children you appreciate them by simply hanging a picture that they drew for you on the refrigerator for everyone to see. Show your appreciation to your child's school teacher and instructors, and let them see you complementing them, so your child will feel proud of their teachers and themselves.

By demonstrating appreciation in your own life, your child will grow up understanding that family and friends is what really matters in life and the fun memories that they will take with them.

Remember, you are your child's BIGGEST role model. They want to be just like YOU!
